Championship Sunday is here

Who will go to the big one??

Well at the start of the year, I went with New England and Seattle to end up in the Super Bowl...this week is the last hurdle before that prediction actualises!

NFC Championship

Green Bay @ Seattle

The Packers got there on sheer will power last week but the trip west will prove more difficult.
Expect the usual suspects from Seattle to turn up big...Wilson to manage a good game...Lynch to take over after half time.

Seahawks 27-21

AFC Championship

Indianapolis @ New England

The Colts have taken major steps this season. It will bode them well in seasons to come.

Patriots 30-21

Back next week with picks for the big one!!

CFP Title time

First Champion of new era decided tonight

Fourth seeded Ohio State faces off against Oregon in the first CFP championship game at JerryWorld in Dallas later tonight.

In my 2014 NCAA Football Preview I had a Football Four of 1-Florida State, 2-Oregon, 3-Wisconsin and 4-Florida. While I got the four conferences represented right, I only had Oregon and Florida State in my pre-season view and actually had Wisconsin winning the title! Not a bad effort but you never know in a college season.

Ohio State vs Oregon
For tonight, I think the key may be the third quarter, particularly from Oregon's first possession of the second half onwards as it will be just after half time when the endurance/fatigue effect of playing the Ducks starts to hit Ohio State. Conversely, if Ohio State can force some early mistakes and get ahead, they will have to hang on for dear life but may be able to pull it off.
Some think the two missing receivers will have a major affect on the Ducks but they are pretty deep and speedy on the outside
Still, I've gotta go with the speed and the Heisman winner here.

National Champion: Oregon 38-28

Sunday's picks

Ice Bowl II Highlights Sunday games

Dallas visits Green Bay primed for the weather conditions that await them along with the "Cheeseheads" for a rematch of the legendary Ice Bowl.
We also have young upstart QB Andrew Luck taking his Colts back to Denver again this season to battle the Broncs.

Dallas @ Green Bay
Though Aaron Rodgers is ailing and may be affected by the conditions, you gotta wander if Dallas owes a debt to Karma? Who reeaaallly wants to go to Seattle next week anyways??
Packers 27-23

Indianapolis @ Denver
Mr Luck brings the Colts into Mile High again this season and will most likely put in a gallant effort but will again fall just short.
Broncs 31-27

Back in a few days with my NCAA title game pick.....

Saturday Divisional game picks....

Going with Pats and Seahawks

Today we have the first two games of the 2015 NFL Playoffs Divisional round. In the early game, Baltimore travels to New England in the AFC and Carolina-Seattle close out the night.

Let's pick 'em!

Baltimore @ New England
The Ravens were gutsy in last week's win over the Steelers and will need that effort plus more to survive New England...oh well been a good season Ravens..
Patriots 30-23

Carolina @ Seattle
The Panthers were good last week but will face a tougher offense this week. They will need to eliminate mistakes, play better D, and control the ball on offense. All good strategies in case they run into the Seahawks next season!!
Seahawks 27-17

Back with Sunday picks soon....

Playoff picks for Sunday

More points to be proven

After both Carolina and Baltimore proved their worth on Saturday, four more teams will have the chance on Sunday as the 2015 NFL post season continues.
Well...let's pick the games and take it from there for next week.

Cincinnati @ Indianapolis
The Colts are still an unknown quantity when it comes to this point in the season. The Bengals have been known to put together at least one decent playoff game so may get road win.
Bengals 34-30

Detroit @ Dallas
The Cowboys have reached new heights this season and host the Lions who have not made it past one game in recent playoff appearances. Maybe I'll put the curse on the Cowboys.
Cowboys 24-21

Back next week....

Let the games begin

NFL Playoffs kick off

The 2015 edition of the NFL playoffs lick off Saturday with a few question marks for some teams. That being said...the Road to the Superbowl starts so let's pick some games.

Arizona @ Caroloina
The Cardinals limp into Charlotte hoping to grab a win and advance. Unfortunately for the Cardinals, Carolina is playing decent football at the moment and will pull the upset.
Panthers 27-21

Baltimore @ Pittsburgh
This will be yet another AFC North classic. While the Steelers seem the easy pick, I think it will come down to the final possession and look for Flacco to pull something off.
Ravens 21-17

Back with more tomorrow...
