Can the Eagles soar?
The Philadelphia Eagles come into Super Bowl 2018 hoping to get over the final hurdle in their quest to finally win the big one. They have come close in the past but have never hoisted the trophy. This year they are relying on their defense and along with the game management skills of Nick Foles being contributing factors for a win over the New England Patriots.
Both teams finished the regular season at 13-3 so technically, on paper, they should be evenly matched. The Eagles however suffered the loss of starting quarterback Carson Wentz late in the season and had to regroup heading into the playoffs.
New England will if nothing else hang around and look to pull off another miracle. The Pats will face relentless pressure so Rob Gronkowski, receivers from the backfield and the slots will be the key. They will be tough to beat if Tom Brady is given time to make reads.
My pick this year is purely based on how hard it is to repeat so I'm expecting the Eagles "D" to come up with turnovers and their offense to get enough of a lead to hang on to. Philadelphia better be set to play four quarters though as New England won't roll over.
