Full weekend for NCAA

NCAA goes into full swing

The 2017 NCAA football season kicks into full gear over the weekend with games slated around the country.

Ranked teams are in action on Thursday and Friday night USA time so let's pick those. I will be back with my full set of Saturday picks in a day or so...

Enjoy the games.

Tulsa @ Oklahoma State (10)
Should be an easy opener for the Cowboys.
Oklahoma State 41-13

Ohio State (2) @ Indiana
Maybe a bit of a test for the Buckeyes...for a half at least.
Ohio State 38-17

Washington (8) @ Rutgers
Some East Coast exposure for the Huskies.
Washington 48-10

Utah State @ Wisconsin (9)
Badgers will be on a mission this season, first assignment is the Aggies!

2017 Football seasons kick off over the weekend

High Schools and colleges strap 'em on
Also Mayweather-McGregor pick

The 2017 football season is upon us high school wise with a sprinkling of NCAA games to boot so all is well with this sports fan. Additionally, we have a little event in Vegas over the weekend to debate.

I will have my NCAA preview up next week along with the NFL, for this week, I'm just gonna throw some picks out there for a few college games and my usual ten high school ones.

I don't remember my records from last season off hand but had reasonable seasons on all three levels of football.

So for 2017 ... here we go!

High Schools

Franklin County @ Liberty
Apparently the Eagles are a very young squad this season and may make a few mistakes but an opening win will boost confidence.
Franklin County by 2

Carroll County @ Patrick County
Patrick County has a new coach, results may end up the same.
Carroll County by 12

Dan River @ Magna Vista
Are the Warriors back? They will be improved over the team that had a road loss to Dan River last season.
Magna Vista by 4

Bassett @ Rustburg
Rustburg by 15

James River @ Chatham
Chatham by 13

Liberty Christian @ GW Danville
GW by 30

Northside @ Pulaski County
Pulaski by 3

Salem @ Amherst
Salem by 10

Cave Spring @ William Byrd
Byrd by 12

Patrick-Henry @ Hidden Valley
PH by 18

Good luck on the season to all high school squads!

NCAA

South Florida (19) @ San Jose State
The Bulls start the season ranked and have an early season showcase on the road.
South Florida 38-13

Stanford (14) vs Rice (Sydney Australia)
Stanford gets the international spotlight for their season opener.
Stanford 50-16

Floyd Mayweather-Connor McGregor

Of course there is a lot of hype around this one but in essence with this one being a pure boxing match up, McGregor, if he lasts into the middle rounds ... will start to wear down and Mayweather will take over and end it by say the eighth round.
There is still the festering rumours of how will the rematch be "set up"? Hopefully it won't turn into a fiasco but don't rule out an injury stopping the fight with no decision therefore allowing each to keep their reputations intact and a rematch set to "settle" it all.
Mayweather in 8 or less

Enjoy the sports weekend!!
