Championship Sunday picks for the NFL

Who is Cali bound?
Besides the Rams

The NFL season has reached Championship Sunday with AFC and NFC title games set to take place in Charlotte and Denver.

In a week that determines which two teams will play in Super Bowl 50 in the Bay Area, it could come down to last possessions or injuries in some instances as it is #1 vs #2 in each instance with Denver looking to be on the worse end of the weather scale with a chance of rain.

Ok, let's just pick 'em!!

New England @ Denver
Please don't let the Pats win!! Check the air in the balls carefully...it could still happen with the leniency!!
Seriously though, it could come down to how many of the bodies listed as questionable for the Pats ... especially of the Gronk and Edeleman variety actually play or if so ... how effective will they be.
Denver's "D" should be primed for this one but it could be a battle of attrition against the New England "Sling it All Day" passing philosophy of late.
In the end though, the rare air may wear the Pats out!
Denver 24-16

Arizona @ Carolina
Temps will be in the 30's but doesn't look as though there will be snow falling. Depending on the condition of Jonathon Stewart. If Stewart can't go or is ineffective, the Panthers will need Cam Newton to become a game manager of shorts in addition to not giving the ball away.
The Cardinals will be a tough out in any case but will give the edge to the home team!
Carolina 27-20

Night for now!!

Divisional Playoffs picks for Sunday

Who will face the Pats and Cards?

After Saturday's excitement, there are still two games to go in the NFL Divisional round. On Sunday the focus will shift to Charlotte and Denver where both #1 seeds will face #6 seeds that are tough outs at any stage of the playoffs.

Let's pick 'em!

Seattle @ Carolina
This one will be epic! Carolina pulled off a late game win on the road in Seattle earlier this season before the Seahawks totally adjusted to new players and injuries so this week Seattle will come in looking to reverse the ending.
Seattle will have to call on the ghost of Legion of Boom past to help deal with Cam Newton. In the end I see Seattle falling just short this week with maybe a Cam to the rescue finish.
Panthers 26-24

Pittsburgh @ Denver
Definitely a legacy game for Mr Manning in Denver this week as the Broncos fight to host New England next weekend. Pittsburgh comes in banged up but as long as Big Ben suits up...theres a chance!!
On top of all the ones suffered by both teams through the season, somehow or another, Injuries will play a part in this one. The Steelers have that look of AFC destiny though so gonna go with the upset call.
Steelers 23-21

Enjoy the action....back with more next week!!

Divisional playoff picks for Saturday

Spotlight on the Pats and Cardinals

The 2015-16 NFL playoffs reach the divisional round with games in Foxboro and Phoenix on Saturday.
Not gonna linger, went 4-0 in the Wildcard Round last week so keen to get to it...let's pick 'em!

Kansas City @ New England
The Chiefs are the buzz team at the moment but strange things have been known to happen in New England this time of year!! Andy Reid's crew seems to be on a mission though after righting the ship early in the season.
This may be where the defending champions bow out!
Chiefs 31-27

Green Bay @ Arizona
This one could come down to the last possession and may end up in the 40's but then again it could be a mistake filled battle of attrition.
Green Bay escaped last week in DC while the Cardinals showed signs of weakness at the wrong end of the season but the home field advantage could get them home.
Cardinals 34-30

Back with two more tomorrow!!

NFC Takes Centre Stage for Sunday

Win and Advance!

After a tale of two games on Saturday in the AFC games, the NFC steps to the fore Sunday in Minnesota and Washington, DC . Oddly, neither home team is favoured, should be interesting considering both visiting teams in the AFC had wins.

Seattle @ Minnesota
The Vikings hope it is closer than the 31 point loss a few weeks ago. Seattle seems to once again be a team on a mission and should survive the Vikings and the thermometer!
Seahawks 28-22

Green Bay @ Washington
The Packers come in hoping to advance and be consistent on both sides of the ball. Washing has managed to get themselves into this position through taking care of the ball. Though not the flashiest, the Skins have been steady. May come down to QB at the end!
Green Bay 30-24

Enjoy and back with more in a couple of days....

Let's get down to business

Now or go home!

It's Critical Mass in the NFL as the postseason for 2016 kicks off in Houston and Cincinnati.
Well, it's a fact that my Seattle-Indianapolis Super Bowl prediction will not happen so let's take a look at Saturday's games.

Kansas City @ Houston
The Chiefs have made many statements since a stumbling start to the season while Houston survived and advanced from their division.
Though in Houston, I don't see the Chiefs stumbling just yet...
Chiefs 34-21

Pittsburgh @ Cincinnati
Could this be another promising season down the drain for the Bengals?? Big Ben and crew ride into town with a view towards shaking up the AFC and going to Cali!!
Steelers 30-24

Overall ... in adjusting my picks.....I'm looking for..
AFC Champs
Steelers

NFC Champs
Panthers

Super Bowl Champs
Panthers

Back with more picks tomorrow!
