College Season starting in Australia

College Football kicking off Down Under (?)

The 2016 NCAA football season kicks off with the Sydney Cup at noon AEST Saturday. That will give people time to get home from high school games on the East Coast of the USA and tune in!

The games features the California Golden Bears vs the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors. It will be the first college game in Australia for around 30yrs.

My season preview will hit next week....in the meantime.

Cal vs Hawaii (Sydney Cup)

The Golden Bears are a long way from the explosive team of last season but could still be dangerous.

The Rainbow Warriors will probably draw favourite support from Australia's South Sea Islander population and their Haka will please the crowd.

Conventional wisdom says cal should win by 20 or so but Hawaii will make it a game for a while.

It's Time back in Virginia

VHSL Football kicking off

Back in Virginia in my home Piedmont District/Timesland Region, pads are set to pop in games that count as the 2016 high school football season kicks off.

The Magna Vista Warriors will be looking for a three-peat of championships in the state's 3a Division.

I'm sure there will be new found contenders in all divisions throughout the area and there will be surprises so let's get the rodeo started and pick 10 for Week 1.
