Final Four picks

Three Number 1 Seeds in Final Four

There were surprises along the way in the 2015 edition of March Madness for men but in the end Michigan State, a number seven seed are the only party crashers. The Spartans however were prominent in pre-season conversations as a team that would be here so there are no real surprises this season.

The real question of can anyone beat Kentucky remains and at this stage my opinion is that if Wisconsin does not do it, the Wildcats will complete that perfect season on Monday night.

Here we go with picks for Saturday ...

(7) Michigan State (27-11) vs (1) Duke (33-4)

This one could be dangerous for a Duke team that put up an easy 81-71 win over the Spartans back in early November. The score flattered the turnover prone Spartans who have been on a mission of late.
Michigan State does not have a lot of size up front and their guard play will be the key for them in this one.
Duke should beat this team again but, it's March, it's a Tom Izzo team playing as an underdog. In the end though I'll give the slight edge or curse of death to the Durham crew.

Prediction: Duke by 5

(1) Wisconsin (35-3) vs (1) Kentucky (38-0)

This one is being dubbed in some circles as the championship game.

The Badgers have the size to match Kentucky up front and though not quite as athletic, Wisconsin boasts a team capable of shooting at a high rate from the field. They will have to play more deliberate when ahead and make Kentucky pay for mistakes.

Kentucky will again cut the rotation down to 8-9 players and will have to take care of the ball on offense. In the end though, the pressure of the situation may again take its toll on the Wildcats.

Prediction: Wisconsin by 3

Back with the championship pick on Monday!!
