Melbourne has the spotlight for Final
It is that time of year for Australian Rules Football fans...Grand Final Day is upon us. Personally for me ... it is an awesome day as my favourites, the mighty Eagles of the West Coast are vying for the title!!
The task at hand for the West Coast though is beating the two time defending champs from Hawthorn in Melbourne for the title.
Hmm....here we go!
AFL Grand Final
Hawthorn Hawks vs West Coast Eagles
The teams split their two recent meetings this season, both in the west with Hawthorn winning in the wet during Round 19 and the Eagles taking the Qualifying Final a few weeks ago. This one will not exactly be a neutral site affair but there are countless West Coast fans that have spared no expense in getting to the MCG for today's action.
The Eagles will need to repeat their fast Qualifying Final start and once again depend on their smothering defense to hang on for a win.
The pressure of playing for a three-peat aside, the Hawks will need to call on their possession game and play keep away to pull it off.
In the end, with the eyes of the AFL world upon them, the Hawks may fall just short of the line in this one.
I'm trying not to be biased and pick from a pure fan perspective but still going with the Eagles!!
West Coast by 18 for the title
