All Queensland Affair for title
With the AFL season ending, Aussie footy fans are now looking to Sydney for the National Rugby League Grand Final Sunday night between the Brisbane Broncos and the North Queensland Cowboys in the first all Queensland finale at ANZ Stadium. I suppose for now the state can be call New Queensland South for the NRL world.
Unfortunately, my team did not win in the AFL Final so I am looking to finish the Aussie footy season with a winning prediction.
National Rugby League Grand Final
Brisbane Broncos vs North Queensland Cowboys
Throw out the form guides for this one, it will come down to the last few moments! These two squads seem to bring out the best in one another and there never seems to be a dull moment when they meet. It will be played at a frenetic pace throughout and forget injuries...who's gonna allow themselves to be dragged off the field in this one?
On the paddock, look for Johnathan Thurston to steer the Cowboys around with precision though it may not always look the case.
Brisbane will be fully prepared with Wayne Bennett at the helm weaving his usual magic in the final.
In the end...it will come down to the on field leadership of Thurston and Ben Hunt with the slight edge to Thurston I think. So, that being said, don't be surprised to see JT kicking for gaol at the end to put the Cowboys over or putting the icing on the cake!
After the utter devastation in the way their season has finished the last few years, Karma has to be with the North Queenslanders.
Good thing there is the Labour Day holiday for recovery on Monday!
