Who will advance in MLB?
The 2016 Major League playoffs kick into gear with Wildcard games in Toronto on Tuesday and New York on Wednesday. After the way my predictions have been going in other sporting codes, I may as well jinx some baseball teams!
American League Wildcard
Baltimore Orioles (89-73) @ Toronto Blue Jays (89-73)
The Orioles will send Chris Tillman to the mound against the diminutive Marcus Stroman.
Neither has fared well against the opposition over the last couple of years so this one could be explosive with over ten total runs a possibility.
In the end though Toronto may hold the big hitting Orioles at bay and pull out the win to advance.
Toronto 6-5
National League Wildcard
San Francisco Giants (87-75) @ NY Mets (87-75)
Right now it's looking like Madison Bumgarner vs Noah Syndergaard in what could turn out to be a low scoring pitchers duel. The Giants survived an epic collapse to sneak into a playoff berth so all eyes will be on them going in.
The Mets are solid and trailed the Nationals for most of the last month or so in the NL East.
In the end...going with the home standing squad here.
NY Mets 4-2
Back to pick the Divisional games in a couple of days...
