Broncos and Bulldogs take the stage
Brisbane heads south for a match with the Bulldogs tonight as Round One of the 2014 NRL season continues its kickoff at ANZ Stadium.
After finishing twelfth on the ladder last season, Brisbane is looking to move up the ranks this year but the task will not be easy. Ben Barba will face his former team and is the key off-season acquisition for the Broncos.
The Bulldogs faithful consider last seasons sixth place finish a disappointment after pre-season predictions of title contention fell by the wayside. Former Dragons Damien Cook and Chase Stanley will fit nicely in Cantebury-Bankstown and with Des Hasler in the coaches box, this team will be a threat to the front runners.
For tonight's match, do not expect any miracles from Brisbane just yet but it should be interesting to see how the team develops over the season.
It may be close for a little while but expect the Bulldogs to pull away and grab a win.
